Huatulco: a great attraction for tourism and investment.
The most recent IPR created by FONATUR is located on the Southern Coast of the Mexican Pacific, 277 kilometers away from the state capital city of Oaxaca, and 763 kms away from Mexico City.
This destination, selected for its unbelievable beauty, comprises nine bays, a national park with a status of both natural and protected reserve, and majestic landscapes that include mountains, valleys and hillsides irrigated by the Coyula, San Agustin and Copalita rivers, which offer visitors a magic and undiscovered paradise.
In 1986, several works were initiated with the goal of transforming Huatulco into FONATUR’s fifth IPR. The master plan for this development considers a polygon of 20,972 hectares, of which 6.35 % are considered a tourist area, 3.45% are an urban area, and 90.19% are an ecological conservation space.
In the abundance of its tropical nature, Huatulco offers unique scenarios where the adventurer or the courageous tourist may enjoy a ride on a boat, a rappel session on a mountain, a visit to a coffee plantation, or just being in touch with the depth of the sea or enjoying contract with nature.
This site offers warm weather with a yearly average temperature of 28°C (84°F) and a clear sky almost year-round. Thanks to the extraordinary cultural attractiveness of its main city, Oaxaca, it is becoming an interesting tourist circuit for European and North American visitors.
